"Set fire to the rain" by Adele

Saturday, February 26, 2011

There was a little bit of a storm going on, a little thunder, a little wind, lots of crazy pelting rain. Then a little sunshine, a little hail, a little sunshine with the hail. Such is life in Northern California on a Friday in February.

Yesterday I woke up at the usual early hour to one of the noisiest rain storms, knocking down the neighborhood, that I've heard in quite awhile.

Yet still, layering it up, out into the tumulteous storm I run.

I ran four blustery, rain soaked, brittle cold, miles listening to miss Adele on the ipod, "Set fire to the rain" while thinking to myself the whole time, this is so perfect.
Try it sometime - running in a storm, the freezing cold, Adele? Who knows you might just get hooked.
Heads up our next big group Team Lucca Race will be, the Zoo Zoom on April 10th. I know many of you can do this easy 10K and run it really fast. This is a Buzz Oates, RunSac series race so plan on amping it up speed wise for this one, okay?

Any of you running a race for the first time should love this race. Land Park is always one of the prettiest places to race in Sacramento.

See you then if not sooner. We are still meeting Wednesday nights and Saturday mornings for group runs if anyone would like to join us.

Team Lucca 2011 Meeting and Mixer at Lucca

Layering up for winter riding

Wednesday evening, Running around the State Capitol

Important to remember between all the crazy complaining regarding this state of ours -
it is still wintertime and while a lot of the country sits at a stand still, frozen cold in a blizzard, we get to do this the first days of February, run and ride and be outside often in this lovely place where the grass is already bright green and the days bright with promise of a spectacular spring.

These are the glorious sunny crisp days that remind me to be so thankful this is home.

Team Lucca runs every Saturday morning and Wednesday night. Come join us!
